Who, or what, is Floresco Training Ltd?

Great question!

Floresco was born in Apr 2018 when founder, Bev Thorogood, (that's me) found herself unemployed having resigned a long career with the MOD as a result of Menopause.

Did she say the M Word?

When I think back to 2018, and the struggles I was experiencing with my own menopause, it's fair to say there was very little conversation being had about menopause anywhere.  Thankfully that has changed in the last couple of years with high profile celebrities, politicians and even members of the Royal family opening up about their struggles.

But back in 2018, hardly anyone was talking about menopause and certainly not within the workplace.

So when I was initially asked to deliver some awareness training to my old employer, the Royal Air Force, I felt like I was stepping into uncharted waters.

A Business is Born

Roll on 5 years and Floresco had established itself as one of the country's leading Menopause Awareness training providers, delivering training to hundreds of companies and educating thousands of employees about the impact of menopause.

Clients included the Royal Air Force, The UK Space Agency, Amnesty International, Channel 4, Global Media, Boden Clothing, Epson and Xerox among many others.

Our training included general awareness webinars, educating HR teams and Line Managers as well as Menopause Champions and support for colleagues, both male and female.

The Business of Menopause

On World Menopause Day, 18 October 2021, I proudly released my book The Business of Menopause, A Guide for Working Women.  I was humbled by the flood of praise I received from both men and women, with one lady telling me my little guide book had 'saved her sanity, her career and literally her life'.

And in September 2022 I was privileged to take to the TEDx Stage to talk about the impact of menopause on women with ADHD.

Since I launched Floresco 5 years ago I've been honoured to have been invited to speak at business conferences, HR forums, CIPD events, be a guest on podcasts, radio shows and featured in magazines.  I've been commissioned to write guides for leading HR providers and asked to brief senior leadership teams for large corporates and public sector organisations.

All Good Things....

All good things must come to an end, as they say.  And in April 2023, I made the decision to close the Menopause Awareness Training side of my business.

It had been an absolute roller coaster ride and seeing how the conversation around menopause has grown has been incredible and I'm so grateful to have been in at the start so to speak.  But I felt that I'd done my bit to put menopause on the corporate map and it was time for me to move on to something new.

So now I'm passing on all the wisdom I've gained to a whole new tranche of passionate coaches and trainers ready to bring their knowledge and wisdom to the corporate world.

And the good news is, many of them are continuing the incredibly important work of keeping the menopause conversation going  - so if you are looking for amazing speakers for your business let me know, I probably know just the person you need!
